Welcome

Welcome! If you are curious about restoration or simply like seeing some satisfying before and after shots you are in just the right place. I want to create a catalog of the joys and pitfalls of restoration work. I have as much fun cleaning up a dusty plate as I do restoring a credenza, so the blog will be varied, with all kinds of repair/cleaning/restoration projects. I have found that after doing this for a while I have acquired a good capacity to problem solve which goes beyond buying, restoring or selling.

My introduction into restoration came the day I stepped foot into my first thrift store in the South Bronx. I would do my rounds around the isles hoping to find a piece I could bring home. Once home I would quickly unpack my bags, and get right into shining each puppy up. Whether it was dust, a scratch, some wrime, or a wobbly leg I was convinced I could breathe new life into every hand selected piece the minute I held it in my hands at the thrift store. Below is a small collection of items I have restored, each transformation is unique, all are equally satisfying.
